Snake Plant

The snake plant, also known as Mother-in-law’s tongue or officially Dracaena trifasciata, is easy to grow, hard to kill, and ideal for beginners. It has long sword-shaped leaves that are green patterned, and most species have a yellow border. The leaves can grow up to 6-8 feet tall. Snake plants are native to tropical regions of West Africa. This is a plant that thrives in shade or partial sun, doesn’t like to be overwatered, and struggles in cold places or drafty spots. Snake plants don’t require much care, and will thrive in a pot with sandy soil and good drainage. You can propagate snake plants easily via division, repotting new sprouts and cuttings.
